Console Table

Designed to strike a balance between modern simplicity and timeless craftsmanship.

White Oak

A wooden console table with three decorative items on top, including a green glass bottle, a closed book, and two small candles, against a white wall in a contemporary interior.

The frame is constructed with precise 45° mitre joints, paired with interior 45° chamfers that create a sharp, cohesive look throughout the piece. These clean lines give the table a softer look while still keeping the substantial feel.

The table is finished to highlight the character of White Oak — its warm tone, distinctive grain, and durability. The end result is a functional yet elegant entryway piece that feels modern but will remain timeless for years to come.

A wooden desk with a smooth surface and two drawers on top

One of the standout features of this build is the pair of drawers. Crafted with traditional half-blind dovetail joinery, they add both strength and a touch of classic woodworking detail. The drawer fronts were cut from a single board so the grain runs continuously across both drawers, tying the piece together visually. To keep the design seamless, I skipped hardware and instead beveled the undersides of the drawer fronts, creating an integrated pull that feels smooth and natural to use.
